SUNNYBROOK:
Growing up in the neighborhood of Sunnybrook as a kid, I may have a bit of a biased opinion on the area. However, how can you not argue that Sunnybrook is one of the best neighborhoods for growing families, with a top notch elementary school, local convenience store, walking trails, creeks and forest all easily within strolling distance? On top of this, the neighborhood layout is designed so that there really is only one major road through the area (which sees little traffic past the school), and all other roads typically are used by local residents only. With plenty of closes and green spaces available, it is a great area to start growing a family while still maintaining a safe environment for your kids to grow up in.

Also worth a mention is the range of property available in the neighborhood, with apartments, townhouses and duplexes sequestered to the NE corner, and the remainder of the neighborhood made up of single family detached homes of ranging size and value, there is something for everyone.

SOUTHBROOK:
Widely seen as one of Red Deer’s most desirable up and coming new developments, Southbrook is located directly south of the older Sunnybrook, and directly west of Inglewood. Southbrook is a great option for those who prefer a newer living space, or for people looking for easy access to the QE2. With its west boundary along Piper Creek as it enters the city limits, there are some lots in this neighborhood that will hold great resale value for as long as you can imagine. New lots of this caliber in Red Deer are almost impossible to obtain, now that most land along hilltops and creek paths have been developed. Make sure you keep this neighborhood in mind if high end lots are what you are looking for!
