SIGN CALLING TO SAVE MONEY NOW? | RED DEER REAL ESTATE

Photobucket

So I received a call off of one of my “For Sale” signs over the weekend by an individual looking to take a peek into one of my listings. This happens quite often, and I have no problem running over to show a property to a potential purchaser. After meeting the interested couple, we got...

Mike,
great post… This is bang on. This is a big mystery to me too when I get the same calls off of my signs and the same responces from the buyer. I never will work directly with the seller and buyer. I’ll always have someone that I work with help the buyer out. Working with both parties does a dis-favor to both.

Thanks Melissa, glad I can give you a giggle at the very least! How is the progress over at your place?

I enjoy your posts… they always give me something to think about. It’s interesting how backwards some people are when they go about these things.

HOW LONG IS YOUR “NEW LISTING” NEW? | RED DEER REAL ESTATE

Photobucket

I am always touring around town, stopping into the weekly Realtor® Open Houses on Tuesdays and Thursdays (time permitting and if anything matches my current client base needs), regularly checking out houses and keeping in tune with the market. While out and about, I pass by “For Sale” signs, many of which are new, many...

Too funny, too true, too sad. A house down the street has been “Just Listed” for well over a year, it’s gone through 3 realtors and I think the homeowners are now trying to sell it on their own (these facts alone make me wonder what’s wrong with the house or what’s wrong with the owners).

Another house a few blocks over has been a “New Listing” for at least 6 months.

I’m not a realtor myself, but it’s the same thing in any industry – it’s not hard to tell who’s doing their job and who isn’t.

Thanks for the comment Lorne! This is honestly my biggest pet peeve about real estate. Nothing bothers me more than seeing those signs in there for a ridiculous amount of time. If you can’t change them regularly, don’t use ‘em!

Lorne Daniel - April 23, 2010 - 3:56 pm

Agreed Mike. We were oft amused by a house down our street – a “New Listing” for more than 6 months.

I always appreciate your positive attitude towards these things and continual efforts to improve yourself and make you a better realtor.
And let us not forget the ways of preventing the knocking over of signs, involving menacing youths with baseball bats in a landcruiser x)

Hilarious. I love it. It’s funny, but it also cuts through the bullshit. You’re right… if a realtor can’t take time to fix one small thing, how will they have time to really care for the bigger things. Well done Mike!
