lol…ya he does!! As long as he can drink right besude me he don’t care who is serving ;)

MW - October 30, 2009 - 8:05 am

Does Chad know about your cabana boy infatuation?!

Amanda Blair - October 30, 2009 - 7:53 am

If I could escape the entire winter season, hopefully I won the lottery right before :) I would travel to different destinations, hit as many beaches as I can and get as many Cabana Boys as I can serving me drinks on the sand looking at a beautiful ocean. Honestly though I would miss the snow around Christmas so probably come back to be with family for a week then be sick of the coldness and crappy driving weather and take off again to continue with my Cabana Boys, drinking, sand and the blue blue ocean :)

Maybe California so I could golf and board in the same day, then maybe catch a live NFL game.
I now fear for winter though after Jason’s post, I know he has been plotting against winter from his condo in Canmore…

Jason Wyman - October 29, 2009 - 4:19 pm

Escape winter? I think winter will be looking to escape me by season’s end considering the savage beating I intend to lay on it….

Adam Blair - October 29, 2009 - 9:46 am

If I could pick any destination in the world for a winter retreat I would choose the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The picturesque scenery of the landscape and the wildlife are second to none but what really makes this the best place in the world are the warm and generous people that make up the community. Sharing good times with old friends and family and making new friends in a winter paradise is what Canada is all about!

admin - October 28, 2009 - 12:59 pm

You knew that a comment about being in AB and shredding would tug at my heartstrings, didn’t you Danny?!

Danny - October 28, 2009 - 12:08 pm

I would not escape it, I would embrace it by moving back out west and into a snowed-in fortress of mountains and endless shredding.

Lauren - October 27, 2009 - 6:53 pm

Australia!!!! Lots of great people, amazing things to see, and surfing! The perfect antidote to the dreary, cold winters we enjoy in Edmonton :)

Andrea Wiseman - October 26, 2009 - 10:14 pm

No matter where it is, as long as I’m with you, I’m happy.

Karlee - October 26, 2009 - 3:09 pm

I would go to Maui…..by far the most relaxing place I have ever been!! I love it there, early to bed early to rise….and laying on the most beautiful beaches!!

Jonnie H - October 26, 2009 - 10:18 am

I do not like the heat, so I don’t fantasize about a tropical island somewhere, but when it hits -30 I can’t help but want to be somewhere just a bit warmer. From what I hear, Vancouver has a more moderate climate than Edmonton, so I would choose there.

Amy - October 26, 2009 - 9:10 am

Oh dearest brother, I have experienced Finland in the spring, summer, and fall, and have been so drastically blown away by this great country’s beauty. Certainly I could not think of anywhere else I’d rather be in winter too. I need to find out if it’s colder here than it is in Canada!

Jo Parker - October 19, 2009 - 6:32 pm

This year, Thanksgiving represents a chance to hand off my sweet but colicky baby to relatives, releiving myself of the rocking, burping, feeding, etc that is required to soothe her. Also, it is a time to take advantage of my stocked up breast milk by digging into some good wine! In other words, I am grateful for my family and their willingness to babysit and to buy wine I can’t afford!

admin - October 15, 2009 - 1:52 pm

Great posts guys! Keep ‘em coming!

Lauren - October 15, 2009 - 10:12 am

Even though we have crazy busy jobs, and don’t get to hang out with our family as much as we’d like, Thanksgiving is a time to get away from the computer, and spend an evening eating turkey, sharing wine, and just hanging out. Needless to say, I love Thanksgiving!

Tyrel - October 15, 2009 - 8:34 am

I am thankful that I have survived another year. I am thankful for the up and downs, high and lows, because without them I wouldn’t appreciate what life truly has in store for me. My family, my job, my friends, etc…………. Just seeing another day!!!!!!!! Very thankful for nice and caring people in the world and the wonderful TROOPS fighting for our country, without them we would not have the freedom and luxuries that we are accustom to. Hope everybody enjoys the rest of the year.

Dustin Parry - October 15, 2009 - 8:28 am

Means its a time to resent my parents for moving overseas and not feeding me turkey

Andrea Wiseman - October 15, 2009 - 8:09 am

I wont win, but I don’t care. Thanksgiving is a vicious circle of eating and working out (similar to Christmas)…amidst the turkey devouring, I get to be thankful to have my close friends and family with me. Especially this year when I went to Montreal for Karin’s wedding… that was cool too.

Danielle Schubrink - October 13, 2009 - 11:45 am

To me, Thanksgiving is a great start to a whole new time of year, the change of weather, sights, smells and feelings. It gives us that chance to spend time with the people we love the most, who we may see everyday or once a few times a year. You get to enjoy an incredible feast that someone spent all day cooking for their family and friends that they love. This is important to me because my family means the world to me and now that we are all grown up and gone our seperate ways, its a chance to bring us back together.

It also means Pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks :)

Amy - October 13, 2009 - 10:46 am

Tell your awesome wife her picture is awesome!

I know I’m not so eligible for this contest but I wanted to give some insight into the question anyways…

In the last half a year, I’ve been able to do something that I’ve wanted to do my entire life. I’ve moved to a different country, started learning a new language, seen a lot of unforgettable shows, and made a lot of fantastic friends.

Being here has really opened my eyes to how incredible the world is, how different it can be on the other side, and how much you can learn from new people from different cultures.

There have been hard times. I’ve had my heart broken, I’ve had some outrageous expenses to deal with, I’ve made mistakes. But even though these things happen, I couldn’t be more grateful for this experience. You can’t have good without bad, and no matter what terrible things can and will happen, they won’t come close to ruining this journey for me and I feel like the luckiest person on earth to be able to be here.

You may ask what I’m grateful for, but I would have to stay that there is nothing that I’m not grateful for.
