WINTER IS UPON US! | SUNSHINE OPENING DAY

Photobucket

I was lucky enough to get away from good ol’ Red Deer in order to check out opening day at Sunshine Village on Wednesday, Nov. 11. Andrea and I snuck away with hopes to catch a few turns and enjoy some great scenery in Alberta’s own Banff National Park, and let me tell you, we...

I am insanely jealous. Are any of the jumps open yet or do they still not have a park?

Remembrance Day makes me think of the people who lost their lives in wars, past and present. I think having Remembrance day is way to acknowledge that they gave their lives for their country. Thankyou.

This makes me think of a couple of friends I have who work in the army. You hear a lot of people hating on the military guys because they don’t believe in war, but when you actually talk to some of these guys, you begin to understand that they aren’t fighting for the sake of fighting… they’re fighting because they want the world to be a better place.

It makes me think of an old picture of my Grandpa in his uniform: it was a picture taken just after he faked his age and joined the Canadian Airforce at the tender age of 16. His skin is soft with youth and his cheeks are re-touched by the photographer in the palest shade of blush. His eyes are hauntingly innocent. To this day, he will not speak of the time spent in the skies while our country. If you ask him what he thinks of the young men who serve today, he will only say, “Somebody has to.”

It makes me think of the brave Canadian soldiers that sacrificed their lives for our freedom. It also makes me think of poppy…and those pins. I think those symbols are timeless. It’s odd though…being French Canadian, I don’t remember them teaching us about this subject when I lived in Quebec.

WESTPARK (RED DEER, AB) | NEIGHBORHOOD UPDATE

Photobucket

Combining the new with the old, Westpark is one of Red Deers most diverse neighborhoods, with respect to the type of homes located in the community. Westpark consists of a blend of the new with the old, where the original neighborhood borders on the newer development of Westlake. The neighborhood offers both an Elementary and...

Not to mention the close proximity to the highway, for those who need to go to and from town frequently. It’s easier to get to the north end by going out to the highway than going into town even. Great update, as always ^_^

Nice! I love your whole attitude on this stuff lately. I love that you go out of the way to make a difference, and find ways for other people to make a difference.
I can only think of one locally owned business in Red Deer that I have always and will always support as long as it’s around and that’s Records to the Rafters. It’s owned by the coolest guy around who knows everything about old classic rock and some metal and pretty much any genre you could imagine. He’s a sweet guy, interesting to talk to, and the store has some awesome treasures if you look in the right places. Every time I go there I give him old record players to fix and sell or buy a couple records just to give him my support.

[...] of you who have been following along may remember a post a while back about the 3/50 Project, that both Andrea and myself had become involved with in an effort to promote and support local [...]

My wife is is a photographer, she does most of the photography and editing of the work. The ones that look unprofessional are mine though! Check out her site if you want to see her stuff, http://www.andreawiseman.com.

And thanks for the compliment!

Who is taking these fantastic quality photos? What kind of camera is being used, and what photo software to load to your site.
Kudos of the best looking real estate blog I’ve seen, and I am blogging in the real estate world for a client, so I’ve seen more than a few!
